More Party defections to UKIP

Welcome Cllr. Doran!
Congratulations to Councillor Alf Doran, who, by defecting to UKIP, has decided to put the interests of his country before the narrow interests of the Conservative Party.

Those who have had to make such decisions recognise the pressure often put on individuals to follow the party line. However, the calling to defend the nation against an EU State is strong.

So well done Councillor Alf Doran! Welcome to the growing band of men and women ready to defend the United Kingdom.

"Yes Minister" proposes "Referendum Lock" to confuse public on EU integration

Fooling noone
How would the authors of the great Yes Minister series, grapple with the question of how their genius creations might deal with a group of "rebellious MPs", who've proposed a bill in Parliament permitting the public a referendum on leaving the EU?

After a few hot chocolates and perhaps a sharp Brandy or two - voilĂ  - here it is: the Referendum Lock.

It's Perfect!

Sell the story that the Government will introduce an Act, which will state that any new piece of proposed European legislation entailing a change in an EU treaty, will require a referendum. If of course both the Minister agrees, and a judge so rules. What could be wrong with that? The MPs get their referendum and the rest of us can all go back to allowing the EU to run our country.

Hello? Now call me the lawyer in the room, but even on the basis of the above I can see that this "Referendum Lock" is about as safe as a paper umbrella!

Stuart Wheeler gives huge boost to UK Independence Party

Major figure
The momentum and growth of UKIP in Britain continues apace with the appointment of Stuart Wheeler as it's Party Treasurer.

With national opinion poll after opinion poll regularly showing more than 60% of the country demanding a referendum on leaving the EU and the Daily Express with it's usual foresight, being the first of the Nationals, actively campaigning that Britain is "Better of Out" and membership rising in Britain's 4th largest party, the appointment of Stuart is a serious coup and another important milestone in the party's growth.

Stuart Wheeler's appointment send's a further message to the country that the fight for Britains independence from EU control is going from strength to strength. Stuart was a large donor to the Conservative Party for many years. Like so many other Conservatives he has been frustrated and appalled at that parties continued support of the EU project.

Cameron's rejection of his "cast iron guarantee" to give the country a referendum on the EU is another example of how those leading the Conservative Party are not in tune with the country or it's members.

Britain is at a critical time in its histroy when it needs those who are passionate in defending its democracy and interests. Stuart is one such person and UKIP will welcome him with the honour he deserves.
